I have seen these birds several times in the past but this is the first time I have succeeded in getting a photo of them.

After hiking for over four hours in the heat of summer between the Rusty Car and Old Mine I finally stumbled across a small flock. They were quite approachable until I spooked a kangaroo who was sleeping right next to the tree they were in. When the roo flushed, so did they.

I was too tired to chase after them by then. 40C on the Strzelecki is not nice!
